Course Description:

Armed Missouri's CCW Level 2 course FAQ's

FAQ's about Armed Missouri, Inc.

Q.

Why should I consider taking more advanced training after I have completed the required Missouri CCW course?  After all, the law requires no further training.

A.

True, there is nothing in the law that requires any training above and beyond the firearms safety training prescribed in RSMO 571.111, however, there are a number of reasons why additional training makes sense.  First and foremost, none of us are born with defensive firearms skills.  Those skills must be learned and developed through proper training and practice.  Being able to effectively and safely use your firearm in a dangerous encounter may well be the difference between life and death.  Secondly, as responsible gun owners who have made the decision to incorporate a concealed firearm into our personal protection plan, we owe it to ourselves, our loved ones, and indeed the general public around us, to strive to be as proficient and safe as possible at all times with our firearms.  Seeking out additional training is the sign of a responsible citizen.

Q.

Do I need to bring a firearm?

A.

Yes.  You will need to bring a center-fire handgun, either a double-action or double-action-only revolver, or semi-automatic pistol, of modern design, in good working order, clean, and with all factory installed safety devices fully functioning.

Q.

Do I need to bring ammunition?

A.

Yes.  You will need 200 rounds of ammunition of the proper caliber for the your chosen handgun.

Q.

What are the class times?

A.

This class will run from 8am until about 7pm .  We will break about once every hour and for about an hour for lunch.

Q.

Will this course teach advanced personal protection shooting skills and tactics?

A.

The CCW Level 2 – Basic Defensive Handgun course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.  This course is designed to take the student from the level of a novice handgun user, to one that has a firm grasp of basic defensive shooting techniques and tactics.  It is not designed to be all-inclusive, all comprehensive, or the final word on the subject.  A student must master basics and fundamentals prior to trying to expand upon them, and this course can help the student achieve that.  The skills and tactics taught in this course are of an intermediate level.
